There have been several well known celebrities who have said that they will leave the country if Donald Trump wins the presidency. A few of note are Jon Stewart, Al Sharpton, Whoopi Goldberg, Raven Symone and more.
Jay Ashley of The Times News had a commentary on some of them.
“TV personality Jon Stewart who said he would “consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers.” Film star Samuel L. Jackson, who, sprinkling his remarks with words unsuited for a family newspaper, pledged to move to South Africa. Comedian/actor Eddie Griffin also said he would move to Africa. Rosie O’Donnell is shooting for Canada. Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and billionaire CEO Barry Diller did not specify intended relocation spots. Diller said if he didn’t leave the country, he would join the “resistance” (didn’t know they were getting up a team). A poet, Omari Hardwick, chooses Italy. Whoopi Goldberg also didn’t say where she would like to go, but a Trump presidency would make her conclude, “Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know. I can afford to go.” Poor thing hardly made a dime working in America. Actress Jennifer Lawrence has made the direst prediction of all: if Trump wins, the world will end. What does she know? “
My question is can we hold them to that?
I know that a written agreement is legal in court, but what about a verbal statement. The USA would be a heck of a lot better off if some of them did leave. Sean Hannity even offered to fly Sharpton anywhere in the world he wanted to go to as long as he agreed to not come back. I would love to see all those make their word their bond, but my guess is that they would all stay, but we can only hope. I still wonder if we could legally hold them to it like a written agreement. You know the agreement where we who want to “Make America Great Again” work hard to get Trump elected so he can work on that and then those who have no clue, but said they will leave.
In case they need a place to go to, there is a Canadian website that is encouraging Americans to move to the island of Cape Breton if Donald Trump is elected President of the United States.
Start packing as the inevitable is coming. Barring any hanky-panky by the Democrats or the GOP establishments, get ready to say President Trump or, get the heck out of Dodge.
